Toooooo much!
I was actually told it will be 13,620 on the road from my dealer...! What a joke, never mind "First Edition", at that price it may as well be "Last Edition" because they won't be selling many! :smilies0947:

I have a Idea for Yamaha Makers
Put a 1000cc engine (preferably V-Twin) in to 660Tenere frame.
Just remember keep the weight down.............. I am sure there will be a lot fans lowing the bike. (Set of supermoto wheels for twisty corners) :bigwink: :nana: :yahoo: |
The competition:
http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4514/blingst.jpg The S10: Another treat for the pack-mule commuters. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/6...enture1054.jpg BMW R 1200 GS Adventure. No jammed immobilizers or cracked frames can get this one off the throne thanks to some actor. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/5...viontx4454.jpg Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V NTX. The pretty one. http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8...araderosv4.jpg Honda XL1000 Varadero. A honest bike who doesn't pretend to be some desert rally bike. http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/2...stromsv483.jpg Suzuki DL1000 V-strom. Just as the Varadero the strom skips all the poser gadgets but do just as well on the long hauls. There's also another bike, but in a category of its own... : http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/6999/ktm990jump.jpg |
Going on looks alone the Yamaha does look very very nice. The MG Stelvio is superb looking BUT if they are still as they where in the days I was biking you can keep them in the show room thank you very much! They WHERE just cr*p.
I still can't see any of the above bikes competing with the Tenere in its market segment as a true bike 4X4? KTM excepted. All a learning curve for me. As one member wrote who will risk taking a bike that price off road? I thought the Tenere was expensive 'till I saw some of these? Lol Ryland |
Changing the subject slightly:- I dont ever remember a 1200cc twin that has been in line,:ninja: usually they are a Vee of some sort or horizontal opposed like the bmw.
I still think along with quite a few others that they should of used the TDM900 unit and kept it less complex along with the price.:bricks: |

I really don't know why people (over on ADVrider mainly) are complaining - this was only ever going to be an uber-tourer - any 1200cc 'dirt' bike is - noone who is serious about going off-road is going to choose a bike like this? J xx |
Some pictures of a real bike here on ADVrider:

Just wondering: What's the price for the GSA over there in the UK?
