Alf England have two in Today they say they arrived yesterday and they built them both up.

The Blue one is sold the Silver one which looks good too has a tag on.

So if anyone has the cash give alf englands a ring sharpish because I dont imagine it will be un sold for very long.

Had a good look around the bike it looks spot on.

The sales guy was saying that the foot pegs have the rubber on but when you stand on them the extra weight pushes down on the rubber and you then get the extra grip of the metal outer. damn good idea me thinks.

Seems Yamaha must have learned a lot from our Tens and put a great deal of thought into this new bike.

Ride On

Don't you touch it....I've arranged for a camera to be trained on it 24/7......:nono:............;)

I am on the I.O.M at present punting the baby Tenere about. A guy in a Mercedes dealer cheekily said "shouldn't you chop that in for the new one". I had great pleasure telling him that I was.

BTW, if anyone is considering coming here for the TT, do it, the atmosphere is incredible.

There is a 'first test' of it in BIKE magazine this month - I bought a copy the other day - however, it doesn't really say much other than they like it - overall quality feel, rides well, feels lighter than it is etc. (but that it isn't technically 'outstanding' like the new Multistrada - typical journos being impressed by speed and gadgets!) - and to be honest, the rest of the magazine is distinctly 3rd rate these days... save your pennies, I'll try and scan it if anyone is really interested...

Oh yes please JMo, although why I'm interested in what Bike has to say about anything these days I'm not sure :)
Thank you,
Selina

Just sat on one.....

I had a little trip to the dealers today (needed air filter service kit, new tank, new hand guards, chain set, pair of tires, service - and one or two other things to correct the effects of the Demolition Derby of the last two weeks), and they have a spanking new SuperTen there in the showroom for sale!!

I had a sit on it and it feels as light, if not lighter than the 660. The quality is very good and there are some nice touches to the bike, although I'm still not a fan of the 'under engine' pipes, it just doesn't seam right for a bike with off-road intentions..... The boxes aren't as bad as I thought and it's much lower than the 660 (I could sit very comfortably with both feet on the floor).

It is, however, very ,,, erm,,,, GS-ish in some ways.

Did I say how light it feels?

The wheels are very nicely made with the tubless rubber and bright spokes - not sure if they are stainless or just plated

I must confess, after getting astride one I did wonder if I should chop in the XJR.

I did start to compare it to the Multistrada, but in reality I think they are in different markets.

OldGitRay - I think you'll be very happy with it, I think you've made a wise choice.
