Depends on the price for me. If the Super ten is a lot cheaper, i would pick that one.

Any price indication already?
answer: 13,499.00 or €15.300 (source: http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/)

Doh - it was the UK site that didn't work, all the guff is on Yamaha Europe site...

I like the 360 view facility... (hope the pannier locks are better than the 660Z versions x)

ps. the Yanks are gonna love the wet weight and suspension travel... yawn... here we go again!

I do not like it.

- don't like the headlights
- the screen looks like it has been taken from something else and thrown there
- the fans and radiator on the side are very exposed (any VFR800 owner having dropped his bike will tell you how painful it is)
- exhaust: WTF ?
- tiny front wheel
- presented with road tyres... it says it all... really....
- USD forks with no sleeves ....
- orange indicators ?? even the 660 has clear indies....
- clocks/speedo: look too complicated/distracting to me.

edit:

I just like:
- the fog lights in the accessories list
- the tank pad based on the prototype.

Well I've had some let downs in my time......

What a lardy love child of the GS and Varadero......

I quite like the wheel build with the external spokes, gives a choice of tubed or tubeless, but to be honest I can't see this bike getting away from tarmac.

The dash, well, WTF is that? It looks like a childs electronic game - way too much clutter there to be of any use at all to the rider.

Side mounted rads, but the fan is on the outside! there is only one place this is going in a fall. I can't see the side panels being alloy, look too high gloss plastic, but I could be wrong

Same old panniers........ but what's with that stupidly odd <BMUU> shaped nearside (or off-side if your ride on the wrong side) pannier.

205mm ground clearence, nope. this is a road bike for sure.

261Kg.........

To me, it looks too much like a GS (the side profile is uncanny), it has the toys, gadgets and play things of GS, it's a GS replacement no doubt.

That silvr colour,,, Urk! just needs a couple of red stripes and it looks like the olg R1150GS......

This bike will do well, it's a GS with the Tenere badge, you'll see these in biker haunts all over the country, right next to dirty, modified, bashed and bruised 660's.

I'll confess I had considered changing the XJR for one of these, I'll take a look when the dealer gets one in, but from what I've seen so far..... no thanks.

261Kg :bricks:

6speed, shaft drive....

it's a tarmac croozer with toys you dont need.

(I'm still gonna have a look at one, but no way I'd be swapping the 660 for one)

I like this emoticon ^^

I have nothing really to add on the SuperTed. Looks better than the GS IMO, but not as nice as the 660Z. Doesn't do much for me, but then I've always been one for light/middleweight bikes, so that's hardly surprising.

It is just a motorway cruiser. The more I look at it the more I dislike it. It is NOTHING like the Tenere pedigree, I think that they has missed the mark by a long way. I also noticed that these have to be pre order only

I'd like to see it in the flesh, read a few roadtests and maybe even have a ride myself(although I'm not sure if its for me) before finalising an opinion.

Having fun reading all the ****** on ADVrider. I do love the way people are forming instant opinions either love/hate based on just a few pics and spec etc.

As I see it they have made a GS1200 clone, but bearing in mind the GS is the best selling adventure tourer in the world that makes sense. Like most GS owners, ST owners will spend most of the time using the bike as a big tourer on tarmac with the odd trip on some gentle off road because they can. The off road rufty tufty style sells and expect to see lots of advertising with the ST crossing deserts, fords, forest tracks etc.

ST think Range Rover
XTZ660 think Land Rover

I hope its a success but fear it will be over priced(at least for the first year)

I hope the engines a cracker and they bring out a R and an X version. Having developed the engine they really should use it in more than one bike

Which was taken from the Aprilia Caponord...a lighter, faster bike, only let down by appalling electrics.
