Post drop links, bike lowering

hi all, so i have noticed with my bike that i have started to strain my ankles i think due to not been able to get both feet flat on the floor so thinking of lowering the bike the questions are 20mm drop links are they a good idea? do they change the bike handling for the better or worse(i often carry lugauge and pillion) does it make the bike loose its sumo stance ? and if i was to drop it 20 mm i take it i need to drop the forks through the yokes by the same amount ? if so is there enough room with standard bar set up or do i need fork risers as well ? whats people opinions on lowering these babies? cheers in advance

plus will i notice alot of difference in ground clearance and chain wear ?
how will the oem cope with the lowered bike will it still be very stable ?

The bike should settle around 75mm "40%" when you sit on it..
Play with your springing & get the front & rear sags right.
And you may find you dont need lowering links... with
the standard springs you prob won't get it totaly rignt..
but as close as the springs & your weight will let you will
make a vast diffrents to how the bike works..

Don't know about the XT..but the yamaha YZF/WRF come
sprung for a 75/80kg rider from the factory which will give
100mm of sag... 35/40% of suspension travel..

PS... is it a XTR / XTX / Ten ?
