Pleiades:
Thats a good idea, those mounting points would probably be great! :)

Hmm.... I think you're right, it would probably be better with a slot in the rear end of the plate instead of holes. And yes, I want some space for the logo...
But I did a small change, so now there is both. Check it out and tell me what you think....

What do you think about the size?

I'd thought long and hard about a rack for the pillion seat (yet done nothing about it!) and your extension idea is just the sort of thing I had in my mind. At the time I thought any rack could fix to the grab rail mountings...

...and then changing to longer bolts and making up a pair of tubular spacers or suitable brackets for support at the front?

 Keep up the good work buddy!

I would be a little bothered about having a thin edge (on the extension) behind my backside in case of an off. How about a folded edge much like the one on the rack but folded at 90 deg??:eusa_think:

I will look into that, but I want it as simple and cheap as possible, thats why there is no folded edge at all on the extender... Also I dont know yet exactly how long the extender will reach. As you say I dont want it to be to close to the driver. Partly because of the safety, and partly because it would be difficult to get on the bike if it is to close! :)

Base plate is now perfect for me!

Extension plate could be wider if you put dry bag across, reason - not to sag on hot pipes. Just an idea. Maybe you can build wide tipe and long type of extension, so choice for all customers wishes.

Great!
No, I will only do one type of extension plate.... I will look into what size it would be soon! There will be some modifications on the length and width and also how it will be mounted!

Question, I will soon try to get a cost sheet for the luggage plate and the extender.

How many of you would be interested in one of these?

gregdobrynin 30-08-12 20:28

I would be interested in both (luggage plate and the extender).
