So, they got to the end of the road and turned right...... then did a U-turn.... turned left at the roundabout (the one that was the refference point to say they had gone too far!) and rode to the motorway!!!! --- It certainly was a surreal weekend..... 1) Getting to the end of the first lane, to find Skunkmoto waiting for us! then waiting 10 minutes (me Skunk & UberT) while the rest of the guys rubbed mud into thier jackets to make it look like they were all hardcore farmers! 2) Riding down a lane, a lane that isn't well used at all, and coming over a Tenere is Racing Gold, yes , it was Tenere Doug !! and I thought he was coming up on Saturday!! 3) Riding alone some remote road over a lesser known Lakeland pass, to discover two XT's coming the other way, one of them dressed up like a TDM ! 4) Stopping in Pooley Bridge, only to see a blue Super Tenere parked up, off course I stopped and said "Hiya Ray", it was a long shot , but I was right, there in the flesh was OldGitRay........... 5) some bloke turned up on a bike that we couldn't quite place.... http://www.smokingtailpipes.com/Lake...KiethsBike.jpg and then there was Steve ass.......... :moon: Selina's mothering instinct :hug[1]: but the suprise of the weekend, Bear didn't upset the staff! :bravo: |

A cracking weekend! Thanks to everyone for making it so enjoyable and especially to Darren for the organisation.
I thoroughly enjoyed the trails on Friday despite me dropping the bike on both sides in the same spot whilst stationary! Just off to see if there's a Tenere stabiliser mod in the tech section! I'm enjoying this bike more and more and it's encouraging to see what this bike is capable of in the right hands once the tarmac has run out. Looking forward to the next meet. Simon |

Finally got back home after 654miles of travelling, some with just one wheel on the ground and some with none!!!! Also near got the panniers down again but this time fully loaded:110:
A big thanks to Darren for the organising of this cracker weekend and placing up of the routes for us GPS users. Also a big thanks to anyone who left food behind on the Sunday (apart from i think Simon who left me 2 kippers which even though in a plastic sealed bag still stunk the campsite out!!! or was that my feet!). Mark (aka markymark) or the guy who parked his bike in his tent. We had a lovely BBQ with the burgers, sausages, buns etc that all left in beautiful sunshine. Yes you read right Sunday and Monday was cracker weather and i finally got all my gear dryed out. Thanks to everyone who turned up and meet some cracker people/charactors although hearing about Steved's flashing and grooming made me a little weary????? Piccies to come soon from my semi broken camera!!! |

Sorry to the Lakelands 2010 crew
Guys,
How gobsmacked was I when driving through Pooley Bridge and saw a troop (as in monkeys) of Teneres passing by. In an unprovoked act of blatant and shamefull showing off I decided to squeeze my 110 horsepower, un-run in S10 past most of them (one of which was on one wheel) and into the camp site. I then turned around and joined the troop to say hello only to be confronted with "Hiya Ray" from GULGo. I promised to pop in and see you rabble on Saturday evening but with the "perfect storm" film set descending on PB and 3 large tents to erect, not to mention 8 completely inept off-spring to pander to, I just ran out of time and when I eventually did get there on Sunday the place was empty :icon_sad:. Still, although brief, it was good to meet you all, I even recognised Motonacio (yes I know, it's difficult not too.) and I wanted to let you lot have a go of the S10 to see how superior it is to the baby ten....:002: Sorry........Maybe next time....
