Its Here At Last Kev's Tenere Fuel Mod

HOT NEWS

:tenere::tenere::tenere::tenere::wav::wav:

I have been testing the Kev XTZ fuel mod for the TENERE

I have been testing the fuel mod over the last few days at different times of the day and different attitudes right down to sea level

The bike pull cleanly right through the rev range up to the limit cut out, it will pull from 2.5 k revs in top gear at 45 mph and open the throttle and it will pull strongly without having to change down a gear. I would say with KEVS mod and the stage 2 DNA kit the bike and O2 sensor eliminator it is has transformed the TENERE into a proper thumper with loads of bottom end grunt which it DID NOT have before you would need to have change down a gear below 3k revs. I would say to anyone thinking of doing this mod, DO IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT,
it is like riding a different bike.

You will have more grunt at the bottom end without losing any top end speed

To get your KEV TENERE FUEL MOD you will need to contact Kev, either by PM or leaving a message on this TOPIC

And before anyone ask's, Kev offered me the mod for free to test it out when I said that I would try it out but I bought it and I have nothing to gain from Kev from telling people about the mod

I had no doubt Kev will pull another of his "hot" tricks.

Well done, this team will be nothing without Kev

A big thanks to Rick for helping me out, I could not have done it without you.

I am busy getting some kits made up as we speak, if anyone is interested send me a PM & I will put your name down on a list & fill you in with the full details. I will be selling them through the forum shop soon.

Basically we have a cheap fuel mod that adjusts the fuel mixture across the whole rev range, it will help the A/F ratio when installing a DNA stage 2 filter or exhaust Cans or both.My mod is a very simple way of tricking the fuel injection to make it run a little richer when installing bigger filters or Cans.

A Power Commander is still the best tuning device by far & is far more advanced in tuning then my mod, if one can afford one with a custom fuel map made on the dyno then that is the way to go.

PLEASE NOT WE ARE NO LONGER USING THE O2 ELIMINATOR. 10/4/2010

Without O2 Eliminator for AUD$65,00 You can buy them from here in the UK.

XT660Z Kev Fuel Mod.

Recommended to be fitted with DNA stage 2 filter & pipe, or just a pipe or stage 2 filter.

What you get for your AUD$65.00.

1/ A Kev Fuel adjuster with connector block & the fitting instructions on a CD.

Fitting instructions

1/ Remove the ignition Key from the ignition.
2/ Remove the seat & left air box cover.
3/ Gently push the sensor through the Air Box pushing on the side ribs of the sensor, do not push on the end of the sensor.
4/ Pull the loom & Air sensor on top of the Air Box.
5/ Cut the Blue/Black wire 2.5cm from the sensor, bare the Blue/Black wire by a 1cm fit the Blue/ Black wires in the connector block & tighten the 2 screws holding the Blue/black wires, it does not matter which way around they go. Can you spray the connector block & wires with WD40 spray or similar, or tape up the connector with insulation tape.
6/ Refit Air temp sender in the reverse order.

You can solder the wires together instead of using the white connector block.

How it works

This fuel mod adjusts the Air temperature reading down from the actual ambient temperature. By adjust the temperature reading down the Engine Control Unit (ECU) thinks it is colder then it really is so in turn makes the mixture slightly richer.

When the Knob pointer is pointing at the white marker (12 O'clock position) the Kev fuel mod is turned off, to make the fuel mixture richer you turn the knob clockwise.

Taking the white markers at the 12 O'Clock position you can safely adjust the knob clockwise to the 10 O'Clock position, I would expect the best settings to be around the 3 to 6 O'Clock position.

PLEASE NOT WE ARE NO LONGER USING THE O2 ELIMINATOR, but are using the new 2012 O2 Controller.
