Road tax.....
Just taxed the Ten , as I was in the queue I thought it odd that people with cars were paying as little as 30 , yet the Tenere was 80 odd....am I missing something or is that illogical. .? Steve

It is all dependent on fuel type, engine size and CO2 emissions.
Not sure bike manufacturers are really worried about these so we seem to get thumped for being "dirty"!

Glad it's not just me, renewed the Rego, on my Tenere, I nearly fell over when it was almost the same my Honda CRV.
Aussie Rego does have a third party insurance attached to it though. |

From January 2017, when Euro IV regs kick in for bikes, they will be banded according to CO2 emissions as cars are. Expect the tax system to change for motorcycles to fall in line with the way cars are taxed. Pre 2017 motorcycles will be taxed based on engine size and post 2017 will be based on emission band.

Just hope 2017 on bikes aren't too horrendously strangled by emissions. ...although as in CAT removal there's usually a way to bypass things! Steve

Only on motorcycles making 47hp (35kW) or less. There was an amendment made in 2012 to legislation to appease the motorcycle lobby groups which basically restricted the anti-tamper rules to only restricted/learner bikes (50cc, 125cc, A1 and A2 etc.). Anything over 47hp can be tampered with, but obviously within the constraints of an MOT test in the UK. |

That's why I left it there. I don't think I could afford to bring it back.
