Co-Value vs. PC V
Hi Guys,
I'm happy to found this forum! First of all I want to introduce myself. My name is Martin, I'm 36 years old and since two weeks I'm the proud owner of a 2005 XTX. I live in Germany - so sorry for my poor english skills ;-). I bough my bike from a dealer and was suprised that there was a PC V onboard. Reading a lot across I now understand what the benefit of the PC is. The only thing I'm wondering is, that the Co setting on the dash was 26, which from my point of view is quite high in the combination with the PC. Now I want to go back to the manufacturer setting of the Co value as my bike still has some minor problems with surging. Does anybody now, how to get the standard Co setting? Thanks and best regards. Firstly Martin, welcome to XT660.com

You bought a bike with a PC fitted. Do you know what map is loaded? Is there any map loaded at all? Is it the right map? Does the map match the setup of your bike? That's probably something I would investigate too. |

Pleiades,
Thanks for your answer. To be honest with you I have not checked the map on the PC V yet. I would say that the standard map is loaded, as there is no other modification done on the bike (even the snorkel is in place) :-). So I have lowered Co to 10 in first stage and will check the map on the PC. BTW. Would it makes sense to have a KEv Mode in combination with a PC. I understand that both are riching the A/F ratio but I have the feeling that the machine runs smoother when the oudside temp. is lower. Martin |

You only need the PCV on your 2005 model you can't run both fuel mod together.

What you're probably best doing (after checking the map that's installed) is getting it on a dyno and having a custom map built. Even with a bog standard stock bike, you'd be surprised what can be corrected/achieved with a custom map. All depends whether you have the spare time/money though...
