Dna filter
Afternoon all,
I'm sure there are loads of threads about this already but i'm currently dying with a serious case of man flu so i can't be arsed looking. This weekend i am going to install a new DNA filter in my XTZ. Looking at the stage 2 cover it looks like a normal cover with the snorkel cut off? So can i just cut mine off? Also do i need to do anything to the mixture etc once the new filter is in and should i expect to notice any difference? Cheers Mike |

You could chop the snorkel off, but don't remove it completely as the DNA filter won't seal properly and will rattle about in the airbox. The DNA stage 2 top is a better solution - seals properly and has nice rounded circumference to allow clean air flow.
Ideally you will need to richen the air/fuel ratio when fitting the stage 2 kit (or removing snorkel with DNA filter). A kev mod is the cheapest and easiest way to do this. I'd fit the DNA filter and leave the snorkel in place until you can get a fuelling device installed. |
