Gear lever

Has anyone found a good gear lever to replace the OE one that come loose on the shaft? I would imagine toura**** do one, but I don't think I'd get much for my kidneys.

The Touratat lever at 36 doesn't sound that bad really when you take into account Yamaha want a frankly ridiculous 17 just for the rubber on the OE lever!! (Which I lost somewhere, some how?)

I've not seen any other than Toura****. I think I'm going to end up buying one from them at some point, since my second OE lever is now getting a bit sloppy on the shaft.

I have one , but it doesn't fit my bike ..

I tried it in many ways, it always get stuck against the side stand ,
my side stand must have been bended somehow during offroad abuse , and now this stupid thing doesn't fit anymore , I will just buy another OEM one I think cause there is now way of bending the side stand again ..

it's strange since the side stand is quite a thick pieace of metal , especially on the part where the gear lever touches

Got a touratech one on my bike, bit shorter than oem one ,makes it much better for gear changing whilst youre standing, worth the 36.

Gear lever

That gear lever comes loose so often.

I cut the side stand switch bracket off(having by past the switch long ago)
This enables you to get 1st gear when the lever keeps wearing

The last time I took it off , I noticed that the actual shaft is now badly worn

My bike now has 46 000 km on

a common problem.
I modded mine a bit:

removed the original screw and replaced it with a longer one, before put a nut next to the head.
Then inserted the new screw and tightend the lever with the nut.
Never got loose again.

BTW: I'm using this one:

I caught mine early in its life I suppose - just loose and no wear.

Try a wrap of PTFE?
