And how is the road handling influenced by the high mudguard?
I recon it would cause some "Head-shakes" at high speeds.

I think the screen on the Tenere is a little bit more vertical than on the old one looking at your pictures so it's going to be hard to get a good design - and angleing the screen back a bit more is not possible because of the mounting brackets and hitting your head on it if offroad.

Thanks, and you're right, the angle was a problem as it is a bit too upright and as you say angling it back more does have limitations. The non see through screen is not a problem though as I can see enough or stand.
The next one will be better.

I might fit an old front fender I have in the shed and do some experiments.

The Ten definatly suffers more than previous bikes and is worse in lane three when you seem to get buffeted all around.

I find even a light wind seems to upset the ride.

might try the spacer mod too

I've not really ridden many other bike in any wind to speak of but the Ten seems reasonable. It seem more sensitive to wind direction than anything. Frequently I get a really nice smooth ride one way and tired arms on the way home.
More than anything the dual tyres seem to exagerate the buffeting caused by a cross-wind, especially if they are feathered at all. I'm expecting some Bridgestone B45 will change that in a months or so's time when I change.

Hmmm this was meant to show a quick mod I tried with an old fender, clearly I used white so my mod showed up and not because that was the only colour I had ! (if anyone can load these up please do as I struggle with comps)

Went out for a quick spin and need to further test but thunderstorms where looming so will try out more tomorrow apart from looking great !
it does seem to cut out some of the wind that rises throught the fairing past the top of the forks. Only got upto about 65mph as I caught up with a muck spreader that covered me in s**te. No wobbles so will try again and go a bit faster.:sunny:

When your typing a reply use the link in the section at the top that looks like a mountian with a yellow background, hold your mounse of the link and it should say 'Insert Image'.

In there paste the 'Direct Link' info you get from Photobucket for the image you wich to post and it should appear in the reply window.

Jobs a guddn'

Nick.

Cheers will give it a try:seasaw:

So far as the high guard goes it definatly improves things up front and even though my mock up is a bit of a beast it didnt get in a flap upto 80mph

didnt go any faster as I am trying to do a fuel test

To be fair if I stuck with this gaurd I would put a metal stifner on it.

But the gaurd does not need to be any way near as big at the front. another interesting thing is that the gaurd looks like it could convert into a very good rear hugger for very little money ! watch this space I may try a few things out
