there's a fair bit of air coming from the gap between the bars and the tank.
not so much between the bars and the clocks. |
Well testing with a high front fender proved not a lot really. So I then tried a wind jammer of sorts. Mounted at the towing eye, again no real difference. so next is to try the type shown on the greek forum.:seasaw:

Have you tried the 'Scottnet Clutch Test' ? Motorway, 70mph, pull the clutch. Does your problem go away? Nick. |

The tenere is unrideable with my Arai Tour X, with a normal full face road helmet no problem. There is a lot of wind being forced upwards through the gap between the bars and tank; I think this is catching the peak on my tour x and causing it to oscillate so much it makes me dizzy....dangerous. I'm planning to try blocking the hole with an old sweater to see if it makes a difference....will report back on this soon |
NickW909 has made a small but effective mod to his Tour-x which is a small metal wire bonded to the underside of the peak to stiffen it. what about trying that? i'm sure Nick could post a pic of it if we asked nicely :047:
or alternatively remove the peak? Pete. |
Here's the peak mod:
http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...9/IMGP4906.jpg I roughend the surfaces of the rod and the peak and used superglue. Nick. |
I do not notice the vibration from my Tour X3.

It's really bad on my tour x!!! So much that it shakes my head! holding the peak with my left hand cures the problem, but obviously can't ride like that. Plan to experiment tomorrow on how to fix the problem.....

Found an Old helmet at my Parents house so gave it a try much better than my current lid so will stick with that.
Also tried the scottnet clutch test, which does reduce thumping but I think there is still some turbulance there that can be improved. Can anyone send me a 2D drawing with the sizes on to make the wind stopper, this could save me some time with cutting and measuring. Its silly windy today so no point testing as the wind swirls from all directions and pushes me across the road. Back to my indoor hobby of designing a small teardrop caravan/mobile warm tent to tow behind the mini. |
dommeick did the sweater trick work ?#
