Oh I'm still out here - I won't be back until the end of April next year!

No report as yet, but I have downloaded the pictures and need to sort them out - at the moment I'm still working on my European feature series for TBM (starts next month btw. x)

It's a bit off-topic as far as this thread is concerned, but so far I've done a little over 3000 miles - Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah - the bike has been awesome - desert pistes, snow covered passes (at 12,800ft!) full-on jeep trails and even a jaunt on the slick rock in Moab - it really is a proper off-road bike (if you're brave enough to haul 180Kg around of course!), and then will purr down the highway at 80mph all day if you want...

And it certainly grabs peoples attention, everywhere I go some 'enthusiast' comes up and asks all about it - in fact I went to the Ducati/Bimota dealer in Las Vegas yesterday to kick some tyres, and all the sales and workshop guys came out to look at the 5000 Yamaha!

Thought I'd revive this thread...

Has anyone ordered/received/got a lead time for any of the Touratech parts they showed at Intermot?

I see Touratech UK have them all listed on their website, but with an ominous disclaimer about when we might actually see the items 'in stock'...

Personally I'm interested in the large bash-plate, the large rear rack and the sprocket guard...

Any ideas/info?

Hey, Jmo! Everything okay? I've ordered some Touratech parts, but they didn't arrive yet, probably next week(beginning december). The parts I've ordered: white handguards&red spoilers(instead of the now installed Yamaha original guards and deflectors, too little protection), the small luggage carrier and the sidestand enlargener. Like they said at the Intermot, some parts of the Tenere range will be available beginning december, the complete range as of january. However some Tenere riders on the german XT660 site already got their ordered stuff, probably because Touratech serves their homecountry first? We'll wait and see. Greetz, Hans.

One of the only few authorized Touratech shops - there were 4?? now down to 3 - here in Germany has been shut by the headquarter. I don't really know why, but I can't help to think they are trimming everywhere. Besides, they are practically in bed with BMW, so developing something new for a non-BMW bike is probably not at the top of the priority at these challenging times to say the least.

Here some piccies of the latest Touratech parts fitted to my Tenere:
-handguards and spoilers(instead of the Yamaha originals&deflectors);
-small luggage carrier(with two longer bolts at the rear, due to the already
fitted H&B pannier rack);
-sidestand enlargener.
Everything fitted very well and quality is also very good. What'll be next: Touratech tankbag and 12v plug-in for tyrepump/GPS. Greetz, Hans.
