I ordered the Touratech handguards today: white handguards with red spoilers(like on the display bike on the Intermot): also ordered the small luggage carrier. They couldn't tell how long it'll take before the parts will be delivered, because all the stuff has just been released, but hell I'm a patient man! You might think, you already have the original handguards and deflectors, but I prefer the better (weather)protection the Touratech guards will give. So I'll sell the original stuff eventually. Greetz, Hans.

Good work, Dallas. Just keep your expectations in check, my german Touratech shop's owner told me that he expects the Tenere parts come in early December :icon_santa:

On a separate topic, I am wondering how your Leo Vince's pipes treating you? How do you find them in terms of power difference, smoothness (less vibration??) of the engine, fuel consumption difference, and of course the additional attention (hopefully good ones) you get?

Does any one know how much the wee screen extender is?? Wonder if it would fit on the XTR's large screen.

You meant cost? The one without a lock is EUR 74, with a lock is EUR 90. If you meant height, there is no info on that. I took a quick look at their website, and it seems they are not offering the windscreen extender at all in the R or X.

@Josephau: the Leovince's are doing fine. Installed the db-killers, sound is slighty fuller then original, no difference in fuel consumption or power(maybe some, but not much), runs great. Only due to the recently installed panniers there's a slightly higher fuel consumption(heavier, more wind catcher). I'll probably go for a Powercommander in the near future, for a perfect setting, and then have a run on a Dynojet-bench to see what it does in power.
@Maxwell: I think the screen extender is universal, so you also can attach it to your XT660R screen, I guess. Greetz, Hans.

Thanks Hans. I will probably get a power commander too, after I know which pipes I am going to get. I am still confused with the claimed performance of various pipes by manufacturers. Plus I need to be concerned if the yamaha stock pannier and rack would fit. I guess I will have to wait for more pipes come to the market and more reviews before I can decide. Thanks again.

The dealer where i bought mine XTZ (same as you Van Meel) have had several XTZ's on a dyno and the overall conclusion was that the XTZ should benefit most from a open air filter in combination with power commander.

@Patrick: do you also have a white one? How did you come to purchase your Tenere at Van Meel's and not somewhere nearby Papendrecht? I know Van Meel is a very good Yamaha dealer, good people and good service(no I don't work there!). Anyway, hope to meet you sometime at the shop! Greetz, Hans.

Hi Patrick, are you saying that an after-market exhaust, single can or duo, would not benefit the Z as much as the combination of power commander and open air filter? Sorry, I didn't do well in Physics when in school, and despite my having read various comments, I am still a bit confused.

Man that is expensive for that wee piece of plastic, might have to see about making my own for my europe trip.

If the XTZ is anything like the setup of the XTX/R a performance air filter will do alot more for torque and power than a set of cans will. Have a look through the ask kev section and you will see alot of people ask about the power differences with performance cans compaired to a Stage 1 or 2 filter.

But a set of cans makes the noise for my XTR so thats the main reason why i bought mine, and also looks.
