Tenere Most Wanted Mods

Here is a poll to see what are the mods that most of you Tenere owners are looking to get, please fill in as many answers as you wish.

Tenere Tekky 06-07-08 09:30

and................centre stand...........proprely fitting paddock stands.

dallas 06-07-08 19:57

Centre stand, handlebar risers(30mm), handguards, customized saddle(flat and higher), iron braided brakelines, WR footpegs, GPS(?). For now! Maybe later on: engine hop-up, for now I'm happy with its performance. Greetz, Hans.

Want I want for the Tenere:
1. Taller mirrors - the bog standard Yamaha ones show only elbows. Currently I have some extenders on order, to make them higher and wider.
2. Front fender extender - to reduce the amount of c**p going into the front of the engine/exhausts.

Wish list:
1. Tankbag - one that doesn't involve magnets, and given the narrowness of the tank, doesn't look like it is about to fall off.
2. Sensible hard luggage - something that doesn't make the bike as wide as a Mini. Given the height of the bike and the lack of low level exhausts, old school courier cases would suit me fine. I await the SW-Motech offering with interest.
3. Rear hugger - I don't go off road often (apart from the occasional rally field), and a rear hugger would cut down on the c**p going up into the tail, protecting the suspension better than that sheet of rubber.

Currently got:
1. Centre Stand - makes it look even taller than it is already.
2. GPS - Got a Zumo 400 which attaches to the handlebar, and sits just below the clocks in my line of sight. No music, no phone, and no irritating voices (apart from the usual ones, but even earplugs don't silence them).

Regards

Si

XTZ mods

Free-breathing pipe and air filter, flatter seat, and centre stand needed. As for luggage, I've ordered some pannier frames from Hepco and Becker to fit some panniers I already have. To be honest, they might be a bit wide, what with the pipes being where they are, but I'll post some pics with measurements when they arrive.

Got: Aluminium skid plate and panniers (not arrived yet though..)

Want (axcessories): GPS! Hand guards, engine guard (since the skid plate don't protect the water pump much), raisers.

Want even more: More hp and a muffler that actually produces sound.. :001:

Here goes:-

Single (l/hand) silencer.
Lower chain guide.
High front fender/mudguard.
18" rear wheel without cush-drive.
Flat seat (with red cover).
Handguards (Acerbis aluminium/plastic type).
Tail-end reduction, no drooping appendage, numberplate or indicators, etc.

That's all for now.:eusa_whistle:

Timpo.

You're right about that back end, I've been scratching my head on that one too. Do you think you could re-shape the original, or would you start from scratch? The thing is, I actually like the LED light, but to keep it will be hard as it's built in... hmmm. Who'll be the first to "chop" their Z? :headhack:
