Just found small cracks on my Akra Ti cans. They are SP series cans which I bought fitted on my 05 XTX and they had little metal stickers covering the 'NOT FOR ROAD USE' stamps. Are all SP cans stamped like this or do they have the option of a Db killer.

Anyone successfully repair these tiny cracks?

Thanks.

Look in the yellow pages for a ti welder and give them a ring.

Sadly this must be the 7th or 8th case we hear of in this forum about Akrap cans going crack on the XT's. These are supposed to be not only the most expensive exhausts on the market but also supposed to undergo the most strict tests possible.

If they are under warranty send them back, they will replace them for new.

No - not under warranty, bike bought second hand in the UK last week and exported/imported into Ireland so I doubt any warranty is still valid. The bike is a 2005 XTX with 5000 miles on it. I'm tempted to sell the Akras on ebay as they are just too loud - its only a matter of time before the long arm of the law lifts me.

Yes, at my friend it happens, with the same can three years old. Akrapovic ask to send them the defective can. They analized, recognized responsability also out of warranty, they don't repair, but sent back nto my friend two news can. Great Akra.

You have to ask to local importer and send in Akra the cans.

Ciao.

Is the SP series pipe the 2 pipe system or the 2 into 1? I ask as I have just fitted the Akropovic 2 into 1 on my bike
Thanks

clean bike mate!! I had the EXACT same issue, fine cracks where the link pipes joined (inlet cap) I took photos of the cracks, emailed akrapovic and they sent me a brand new set, which are a later model also, they arrived within 3 weeks and they took the old one's back, I even explained to them I bought the bike second hand with them on, they didnt seem to care i didnt actually purchase them

still not 100% happy with them though as the clamps put shocking marks on the cans, and the left can always turns out slightly and needs re adjusting, i should of asked akrapovic how much to just upgrade to 2into1 as they were sending me new one's anyway

I'll eat the inlet snorkel off my bike if this works. I'll give it a go and see what they say - I owe you pints if it works...

Cheers,
looking at your picture the pipes look the same so I will need to keep an eye out for it happening to mine.

Unbelieveable - I just got two brand spanking new cans from Akrapovic. I sent the old ones back and they said that as a 'goodwill gesture' they would replace them even though they were out of warranty.

I know I promised to eat the inlet snorkel off my bike - its probably not a good idea since any new owner might want it.

Anyone want to recommend a charity and I'll make a donation on behalf of the people here who suggested I contact Akra for replacements?
