I try and avoid using a pressure washer, and if I have to, only directed at localised areas of crud safely away the numerous areas where water ingress would be less than ideal.

If you use something like this...

...before washing, there is really no need to use a pressure washer at all, a garden hose (or even a watering can) will do the job just fine.
