You know what I think you are right, many apologies, for the confusion, still there is no problem with water ingress, we are both right there for sure. I have ridden through torrential down pours washed my bike loads of times and had no problems at all.

Mate that is a great name, chilliconcarne and what a picture looks kind of freckie.

Anyway as all the other guys explained no a stage 2 filter will not let in water due to its design, but to get water up to that level would mean maybe causing other problems on on to getting water in the exhausts, or into the electrics of the bike (which i have just found out are not really water proofed that well).

I'd love to go back to Finland again as it's a brilliant country. I miss the sauna, vodka, beer and oh.......the women. :rolleyes: The only thing I don't like about the country is the mosquitos. ;)

The red colour of the cotton filter comes from the oil used to stop water and micro particles from entering the air box. It is also advisable to grease the inside locating lip of the filter when fitting to ensure an air/water tight seal. Personally I don't cover mine when washing and I would never use a pressure washer on a motorcycle. Aside from the air box, think about all the other seals, chain links, rubbers etc etc that you are essentially forcing water into...
