I have Mitas E07 for the last 6000 km pretty happy with them, good on wet tar, well mannered for green laning, not so good in mud though.
In dry conditions are just perfect on tar or dirt. |
Bike came with Tourances but not that impressed, was going to change when they wore out but a pair came upon here at a good price so I fitted them again.
Now worn out again so had to decide what to buy. I've used Trailwings but seemed to get more than my fair share of rear punctures, possibly nothing to do with the tyres but that ruled them out. I've had a couple of sets of Conti escapes and liked them apart from the tread blocks on the last rear I had developed large cracks between them which looked a bit iffy. So this time I've spent this afternoon fitting Conti Trail Attack 2s, let's see what they're like. I don't off road, if I can help it, but do quite a few muddy pot holed lanes to and from work and occasionally across a camp site field so hopefully they'll be up to the task. |
Had a pair of Shinko 705 on my Tenere. Average + tyres. Ok grip, handling and feedback. But they lasted only 9500 km. Front could have done 2-3000 more but chose to change that too.
A little disappointed that they didnt lasted longer but have been doing some pretty rough outbackroads in NT and WA in Australia in very very hot weather conditions. I guy I rode with hot only 11-12 k kms out of a rear Heidenau K60 - and that was TOTALLY done. He rode on the cord the last 2-300 kms. Now I have a set of Sava Invader 24 fitted. Said to be 30 off and 70 on road. Will be intetsting to what they are like and how long they last. |

Im now running my third set of Heidenaus K60 Scouts, but when theyre worn out, Ill change to the new Avon Trailriders. They got very good reviews on grip wet and dry, durability and mileage, and because Ill do more road ridinand just some offroad(gravel and forest roads), these seem the right tyre for me!

I currently have the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II, look good, feel nice, but....
I would trade my mother-in-law for a pair of Avon Distanzia that I definitely miss!!! No other tyre looked and felt so great on my XTX... NO OTHER! :smilies1349: ---not imported in Greece anymore... :( |

I've just fitted a pair of Trailriders (good use of a Sunday afternoon in December). First time I've run a tubeless tyre with tubes. Will let you know how I get on with them. Although it would be fair to say it will be a slightly different ride from the ones I'm taking off.

I use to ride Heidenau K60 Scout. Currently I have a set of Contintal TKC80.

Michelin T63 , Conti TKC80 or Mitas E-09 offroad / winter.
Any wannabee adventure tire on the black stuff or in summer. |
Just got a pair of Dunlop Sportsmart 2's to replace the Pirelli Diablo's the bike came with. Can't fault the Diablo's they gripped well come rain or shine (being my daily commuter in England it was mostly come rain!). After 250 miles in English winter the Dunlop's are proving to be just as good but with a better feel of the road and I feel more confident in corners too. Can't say much for mileage as of yet but so far I would recommend the Sportsmart 2's. Am wondering if I might have been better off with some Michelin Pilot Road 4's as have heard they are amazing for wet weather. Might try them next winter.
