New (easier to buy) cheap CNC levers!

Thanks to who ever it was that gave me the heads up for the in-expensive levers, they came really quickly, the service was superb and 18 delivered for the two stubby levers.

Fitted straight in with no hassles. Perfect!

Pleiades 09-07-13 15:37

New brake levers!

Twas me! They're good aren't they. The only worry is making sure you order the correct ones, but you obviously got that right! ;)

Beardy Rich 09-07-13 16:31

The clutch feels a little heavier as I think the angle the cable goes in to the lever is slightly different, but I actually prefer it like that.

I love them! Thanks for the tip, stunning quality given the price.

tenyamman 09-07-13 23:26

do you have a link to them ?

kinioo 09-07-13 23:28

I think I saw the thread regarding levers, with ebay link and models we should order (brake/clutch) but cant find it now.

Would you be so kind and specify which one we should order please??

I think I'll give it a go.

Many thanks

Chris

CNC levers for less than 20 a pair - delivered!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LBR-CNC-Br...item4854be7d3e

You've got to watch the ordering process and get it just right or you'll end up with the wrong levers. All the relevant information needs to be added as a note at the checkout stage.

You will need to state exactly (for the XTZ)...

1x Suzuki - GSXR 600 1997 - 2003 Clutch lever

1x Yamaha - FJR 1300 2004 - 2008 Brake lever

I want the lever in XXX color

I want the adjuster in XXX color

I want short/long levers

*As of 10/10/2013 there is a listing specifically for the XT660Z (containing the above mix-and-match levers)...

They are the instructions I followed and they turned up in less than a week. Superb service.

Just ordered a pair of these :-) thanks for the advice cnt wait to get them fitted

WeaveMcQuilt 16-07-13 22:25

Ordered!

Thanks to everyone involved for making the ordering process that little bit simpler!

I ordered stubbies, only ever pull levers with 2 fingers anyway!

Looking forward to them.

jon660z 20-07-13 13:56

Has anyone had any trouble fitting these?? I ordered them as advised above, the clutch lever is a perfect fit but the brake lever allthough looking something like origional is nowhere near going to fit. Ive included pictures, there where no part numbers on the packaging. Has anyone got a picture of what the correct fitting lever should look like??

Thanks in advance jon

Jon - Sorry to spoil your day, but you have not been sent the correct brake lever. The one you have is too thick, doesn't have the cup where it operates the piston and has wrong shape arm for the brake light switch. My guess is you've been sent a pair of GSX-R levers - you definitely haven't got the FJR1300 brake lever.

The correct lever's mount is an identical machining to the original.

You are the first person I have heard of that has been sent the wrong ones? You'll have to contact the seller and get another shipped out. Lucky they are cheap! ;)

Kinda guessed it wasnt the correct lever, I think your righg ive been sent the pair for the GSXR, Despite 3 messages and a note at checkout, stating what I needed, i have contacted the seller so will see what happens. If not ill order a pair for the FJR 1300 still cheap at 40 quid for.2 pair lol

Cheers pleiades

You can always then put the GSX-R brake lever and FJR clutch lever back on eBay - there may well be a bike out there that uses that combination of levers! ;)

jon660z 20-07-13 16:18

Tbh id probably keep the lever blades and adjusters as spares, I do alot of trail riding and levers are always getting broken. Id imagine the lever blades are universal and the mounting section is the bike specific part???

Its funny because the seller messaged me on eBay to confirm my order, and said it was ok to order 2 levers for different bikes lol, will see what happens.

Thanks for confirming the lever isnt as ordered, for a split second I wandered if someone had fitted a new lever and mastercylinder.

Cheers jon

Macca2801 21-07-13 07:33

Same thing as me, they sent two GSXR levers and clutch fits but brake no-way! They told me I didn't send and checkout msg but clearly they got it as they provided silver on black short levers when the listing was red on black long levers. They are sending a correct perch to match and I will just swap the lever arm across.
So it's not an isolated incident!
Matt

jon660z 25-07-13 16:16

They did the same to me my new lever base is on Its way. Should be here soon

oldmanthatcansee 04-10-13 00:03

Has anyone tried the flip up version from the same seller?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fit-Yamaha...item4854c09636

I'd like to give it a go...
they have required clutch lever but only list brake lever for 2003 FJR rather than 2004-2008 Pleiades is suggesting.

The 2003 FJR has a different brake lever which will not fit.

AFAIK, other models that have the same brake lever as the XT660Z are the 2005-2007 FZ1, FZ6 and TDM900. Check if they do a kit for these models and then mix and match with GSX-R clutch lever.

foggy 05-10-13 23:02

They do do Flip levers as I have just fitted some. Beautiful bit of engineering for the price. I think I might have had the last pair in black.

I ordered:

1x Suzuki - GSXR 600 1997 - 2003 Clutch lever

1x Yamaha - FJR 1300 2004 - 2008 Brake lever

Bit of messing around trying to get them. First pair were posted to the USA by mistake and disappeared!

E-mail them. They advise buying the levers. Then BEFORE paying, e-mailing your requirements and wait for confirmation of requirements.
Once confirmed, then pay.

You'd think they'd get it right by now - enough of us have bought them!! I had no probs, but sent them several eBay messages before purchasing and after to ensure no confusion.

I've had mine on the bike now for 1 year / 25,000km - lots of which has been brake/clutch heavy off-roading. Love them, and they still function perfectly (which I am a little surprised at given they are cheapos from HK!!). The only negative is the black coating on the housing of the clutch lever has rubbed off, leaving a bronze finish. Probably accelerated wear due to a lot of dust.

Pleiades 09-10-13 00:27

Right... As a few people have had difficulty obtaining the correct mix-and-match pairing of GSX-R clutch and FJR brake levers, I recently took it upon myself to contact the eBay seller to try and simplify the ordering process, and things are looking positive too...

What we're hoping to achieve (fingers crossed) is that he will make up sets of XT660Z levers (containing the GSX-R/FJR items) and list them as a specific item on eBay (within his shop) for "2008-2013 Yamaha XT660Z Tenere".

Can't say how long it will take to get it up and running at the moment, but hopefully, if it's a success, everyone (who hasn't already got them) will have a much simplified method for ordering these CNC levers in the future...

Pleiades 09-10-13 08:37

Update - All sorted.

Sunny (the man behind the levers) has confirmed that in 24 hours time there will be a specific listing for the XT660Z. When the listing is active he will be emailing me the link. I will then post the link in a new thread for anyone considering buying these levers.

I have to say Sunny was extremely apologetic for those that had been sent an incorrect lever and was more than keen to help us out with simplifying the ordering process.

I will also get him to do an XT660Z listing for their folding levers too.

I've looked at these but there is something about them that doesn't seem safe to me....I can imagine jumping for the brake lever and it isn't there, say if it got jammed up with mud and stayed in the up position. scary...

I also went through the same with Sunny, sent him a link to this post, mentioned the club and he promised to list the GSX-R/FJR combo, but never did. So, hopefully better luck this time.

I want to buy these but I will wait a couple of days to see whether he lists an item specific for the Xt660z. Just checked and the item hasn't been listed yet.

Thanks for the info guys.

Pleiades 10-10-13 19:53

Good news!:yahoo:

Spoke to Sunny today and all is good. The listing for a specific lever set for the XT660Z is up and running...

EZmoto ebay Shop XT660Z CNC Levers Page

This is the listing for the black levers, obviously all other colour combinations of levers and adjusters are available, plus long or short varieties.

I have been through the GSX-R/FJR combination with him several times to make sure, and he assures me that it is all sorted. He also apologised again for any previous errors.

It would be really helpful if whoever orders from this listing first let's me know whether everything works out so I can get back to Sunny if there are any teething troubles, but as I said, he assures me there won't be.

I've done my best - now over to you... Good luck!

They have promised me that they will send the right base for the brake. I've paid a few bucks extra to have them send it airmail with a tracking number

(Real handy with a tracking number if I'll need to discuss it with the danish customs again as I did with the levers)

Gibbo1974 14-10-13 11:49

OK They came really quick but god was the order wrong....

I wanted short black levers with red adjusters

I got long Red lever with black adjusters lol

I am trying to sort it out now, I haven't even looked to see if the fit the bike yet.

hahahahahahaha.

If they do i'll post them up for sale, anyone out there with a red TEN that needs some bling ??? lolololol.

I just missed the set up for the specific Tenere listing so I had to try and explain, it didn't go very well...:-(((

atgreg 15-10-13 10:01

well ive ordered a set from the Tenere listing, lets see what turns up

speedlime 16-10-13 23:40

Thanks Pleiades, I have ordered from the link. Been on my list to do for some time. Will post update once they arrive. Thanks again.

The base arrived today. Unfortunately it was just a bit to thick so I had so grind it down a bit (~1/10mm) to fit it

Took some time with email back'n'forth and weeks for postage service arround the world, but now it is all sorted :-)

Btw they named my base "DL650 11-12 SFV650 GLADIU" on the custom form.

Gibbo1974 25-10-13 13:51

Well after about 10 emails trying to explain that the originals didn't fit I have a new set coming, they got well and truly confused with the payment side of things and I have ended up with two sets for 28 delivered....

So as long as the second set are the right length, colour and fit the bike I'm quids in.

fingers crossed.

speedlime 26-10-13 18:52

Well I ordered from the link supplied, it was dispatched within 7 hours and they arrived yesterday. Packaged well with good paper work and there is nothing wrong. Levers look very good and fit perfectly. Very happy with my experience. Thanks again.

Pleiades 26-10-13 21:08

Excellent! :eusa_dance:

The new link seems to be doing the trick.

Thanks again to Pleiades for getting a simplified purchase process!

Only one question for those who installed them. How much free play do you leave on the clutch lever? Do you leave the same free play as in the manual? (10.0-15.0 mm)

Cheers

Pleiades 06-11-13 19:13

Glad to see everything seems to be working out with the lever ordering now.

Set free play as the manual states. Just make sure the adjuster at the lever is not left wound in too far, leave it so there's a good 10mm of thread showing, which helps the cable run more smoothly through the end of outer sleeve. You may find it easier to get the initial adjustment right at the clutch end of the cable. Also give the exposed cable at the lever a good lube up.

Ordered & paid the old way yesterday 05/11/2013

Link down so sent ebay question referenced the article and ordered short blue with yellow adjusters.

We shall see what appears in the post! they asked me an extra 2 quid for stocking fees, which I had to send separately following buy it now.

they have now told me that their boss agreed the discount excluding 2.

Given that the next set of levers is double the price I am not bothered.

Will keep you posted, and thanks to the original poster.

Anyone any tips on the simplified process with ordering the Kev mod -stage 1 and 2 and twiddly thinggy?
