Just got hold of Essential Rubber, they will fit the front and rear for 159 (70 for the front and 89 for the rear), ride in ride out. It definitely pays to shop around. They are in the middle of London too, which normally means they are more expensive. They work on a first come, first served basis and they have the Avons in stock. Guess where I will be on Monday morning? Good contact Richard W.

I fitted the avon distanzas to my xtr and .Icovered 2500 in all conditions and the are brilliant ,great grip in the wet gettig on the edge of the tyres on tight bends plus they are are a good price,The wear rate is great as well I think 6000 plus miles should be about easy reach well worth a try for commuting in all weather conditions,

I got my new shoes today!! I got a pair of Avon Distanzias and a new rear inner tube for 165, all fitted. I dropped the bike off, went for a fry-up around the corner came back, paid and rode off into the sunset (only to get the bike knocked over by a scaffold truck an hour later!)
Very happy with Essential Rubber and I will use them again, the staff were all friendly and gave me some good advice etc.

PS too soon to say how I rate the tyres, I am still scrubbing them in...

Any chance of a picture of the tyre on the bike? I am considering a new front and this is the most probable option.

I will post one as soon as I can get my damn phone to connect to my computer! Or you can look at the pics of CaptMoto's bike in the gallery he runs Avons.
