I could make them for a couple of $. The only problem, I am lead to believe it needs some sort of registration.

Hey Kev it wouldn't be right you making something for an XT to make it slower. It would spoil your reputation.:laughing5:

Yeah I would imagine they cost very little indeed to make.

Haha that's true, it would be ciminal for Kev to make something that decreases performance, I think we would have to exile him!

Yes it must be to do with registration and certifications, as every fiinternational restriction kit cost exactly the same price (as far as I have seen on their site), and they all vary from a metal plate like this, to metal washers etc. When I was researching my restriction options I asked fiinternational why they cost so much, one of their reasons they said was that they have to spend a lot of money to get a bike, test it a lot on the dyno with the prototype restrictor, re test it on another bike etc..... but to be honest everyone knows why....they pretty much have monopoly power (well technically oligopoly), we don't have much choice and so they will charge what they like!

Its all a money making idea as well, plus legally they have to restrictor X amount of bikes before they can write it off as working.

Actually there is a very simple method to restrict your bike, just give it to Johnno to tune.:YellowCrazy_J8GDC6:

Must be the only person on the planet to try to tune a bike and make it go slower!!!!!!!!!!:D

I'm sdure he'll be along soon to explain how to do it!:violence:
