I will try the above and come again with the results!!! :toothy12:

p.s Kev, in order to fit the resistor, if i understood well, I have to cut the wire.... am I correct?

The wire that runs to the rev counter solder a 10K resistor on the end of it then the other end of the resistor goes to the orange coil wire.

Hello again.
I have tried to connect the rpm to the ECU as Kev suggests but unfortunately I could find where exactly should be placed.
Any hint?

Same colour wire at the coil but at the ECU end.:loser:

Kev, I had to check the manual in order to understand what you ment with the orange color :P
Never the less, on the weekend I finally managed to get some time to check this issue.
The results was that I couldn't get any rpm indication from the ECU orange cable. I have tried several time with no result. Also I couldn't locate the orange cable at any other place (besides ECU) on the way, before reaching the coil...
My second attempt was to feet the 10k resistor.
At this point I have to say to Kev:YouRock:..!!
This made thinks much better!! My rmp meter stopped running like crazy up to 11.5000.....
I still get higher maximum rpm's than it should.
I had indications up to 8.500 and unfortunately I didn't manage to activate the rpm meter from the secter menu in order to compare the indications (I don't know why I have done it several times in the past, but yesterday it didn't work :icon_scratch: )
So.... what I should do you suggest to do next in order to improve the indications??

Try a 20K resistor.

Hello from Ioannina,Greece.

After doing my own search about rev counter, I finally ended with a Trail Tech tach-hour meter digital gauge.I 've ordered two of them (one for a friend with a CR250) and still waiting so no review yet.But I've seen it on youtube (working and installation) and it seems OK.Not the best solution as I would prefer an analog one but it's the cheapest(31 euros).
You will find it on ebay.com

^Also installed Tral Tech Tach. Works like a charm, settings (in order of menu settings cycle) PRR 2 - sensitivity Hi - speed slow.

Of course with newer XT's your PRR would be 1.

As i can understand Kev it is not the same connecting the counter at the orange wire on the ignition coil as at the ecu orange wire... Do you know which is the difference connecting the orange wire of the ecu from connecting the orange wire at the coil?
Thanks...
