Fat/Long Footpeg Kit nearly done.....

Hi Folks,
Having borrowed resident Timpo's machine for a while we've been concocting a few mods.
Should have these footpegs available in a couple of weeks time at 75 a set.
They give a nice big wide platform for riding stood up.
What do you think?

VERY NICE but you will be competing with the YZ ones on FleaBay at 25ish

wonky 27-10-09 17:47

these are a top quality branded stainless peg, they arent cheap to put together. I understand they're more cash but im sure they're a better item.

First of a line of new Tenere stuff anyhow!

That's good news.

How about a single can system, that doesn't cost 850++ ??

You will have to let us know what is in the pipe line so it will stop us buying it before elsewhere

wonky 27-10-09 18:34

Big Bad boy bash plate.....
we do ones for the KTM 950/990 Adventure and F800GS that are really popular, should give an idea of the 'style'.

Also looking into a 2-into-1 exhaust slip on at 'the right price'.

uncle ricky 27-10-09 19:13

I would be very very very interested in the sump guard very interested :idea1:

jimthebrit 27-10-09 19:17

wonky

Jim

How long before this pipe comes Wonky? Was about to order a set of Leovince....... If its not TOO far off i may have to wait.:eusa_whistle:

tripletom 28-10-09 10:27

Wonky, I have a friend with an 800GS who was talking the other day about a sump guard, but was concerned about cooling air to the oil cooler. Do you have a price/more details I could pass on please?

Lairyboy 28-10-09 13:14

Wonky,
I'd be interested in a set of pegs, standing on the normal ones is not only uncomfortable but a few times when off-roading on the recent Portugal trip my feet almost came off them.....bloody daft idea from Yamaha!!
cheers
Lairyboy

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder why you want to change your exhaust,:dontknow: could it be because of a certain bike you had a go on :teaandcake[1]:

EnglishGent 28-10-09 18:52

Would the Ten's sump guard work with the main stand like in the GS pictures?

Might Be.... :smile[2]:

banksy 29-10-09 11:55

Wonky,

Is this pipe planned to be E-marked with removable baffle or is it going to be a full on loud race pipe?

I'll second that question.

MESSAGE FOR WONKY - If anyone knows him please pass the message below - cheers

Wonky you've sent me a private message asking me permission to advertise your product, I have replied to you giving you the green light but at the one condition to offer our members a discount, and proposed a percentage, I am still awating to learn your reply. Please reply to me asap

Thanks

I would be interested in a sump guard, as long as it protected the water pump. REALLY interested in a 2 into 1 pipe as this is the only thing i have got left to do to the bike to get it just as i want it......

Crusty

I'd second that as well. A simple guard to protect the water pump without costing the earth or having excess metal would be fantastic.

banksy 30-10-09 10:11

The queue is growing in length for pipes, pegs and sump guards....

Where has wonky gone?

CaptMoto 30-10-09 10:20

I'd like to know too.

wonky 30-10-09 21:30

hi,
sorry for the suspense! had a really busy week.

ive replied to captmoto basically explaining that we cant offer the level of discount he wants to forum members. We price our own produced products really keenly (against what they cost us to make, they aint cheap) and dont sell to dealers, only selling direct worldwide. Therefore we can offer better stuff for the same price or less than 'other' companies.
I could offer the discount suggested if we increased all our prices in the shop, and then brought them down to our 'normal' price with a discount, but this seems stupid.
Consequently this post may get removed.

pegs and bash plate should be within the month. Id like to think we can get an e-marked pipe sorted in the same time, but as this is a new type of product for us cant be 100% (we are getting end cans from another company and basically making the 'link' pipe, just to be totally clear about how it will work)
cheers!

chris

josephau 30-10-09 21:47

Fantabulous! About the pipes and link pipes, pls pls come up with something that is light weight, eu3- compliant option, and the final look will align with the bike beautifully. I'm particularly unhappy with what available in the market as to my last and second last points, wink wink to Wonky. Look forward to your goodies.

deiaccord 31-10-09 00:08

Any chance of a full stainless header system them? Like someone else said rusty pipes look a bit naff but nowt you can do if you ride all winter and on Guernsey I expect the salty air to be just as bad (it's a killer for cars).

And something that doesn't stick out miles past the rear light would be nice! bigwink

I thought the stock pipes were stainless? They might be a low grade, but I thought they were stainless all the same?

They must be the extra quick rusting stainless then :)

I think my exhaust header pipes were rust free for all a week.

The whole point of stainless to me is that they don't RUST, I'm not interested in the shiny stuff, I'm chromaphobic :)

Nelis 02-11-09 21:30

I dont need them to be chrome, i just dont like the orange.
I do like the blue colours that KTM has.

That's what I mean, if they are a low grade stainLESS they will corrode faster than a good grade. Stainless is exactly that, it stains less than mild steel. There are many different grades and they all have different properties and, obviously, costs.
You could make a set of headers reasonably cheaply (in comparison to titanium) from 316 food grade stainless steel and they wouldn't tarnish anywhere near as much. But they would cost a lot more than the stock headers do I'll warrant.
If the OE headers were mild then they would've been rotten by now.

Skunkmoto 03-11-09 09:45

The stainless headers on my TTR are coming up for thier tenth birthday and are a light matt brown, no rust. Like ya say there are diferent grades, hopefully the pipes on the Ten will last as long.

These are some pics of my header pipes when the bike was 6 months and 7 days old.

If this is stainless I dread to think what normal steel would be like! (my brake discs rusted a LOT less by comparison).

Granted my bike had done about 12k miles by this point including being ridden all winter.

Skunkmoto 03-11-09 11:43

Shucks, looks like rust to me.

Anyone tried ceramic coating?

I can't see any difference between the 7 day old photo's and the 6 month old photo's?

tripletom 03-11-09 12:03

My 5 day old discs...

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...s/IMG_1612.jpg

They're steel, they will rust.

To Skunkmoto, I've not had ceramic coating on exhausts, but I have had it done on engine components. Camcoat- http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhausts.htm get heavily recommended. Could be worth a thought.

That's coz it's a total of 6 months and 7 days ya muppet ! :) (bought 7th November 08, pic taken 14 April 09)

Tripletom. My discs did that (in winter) when I got the bike but it did not get any worse. The braking surface area itself however was generally clean as the bike is used 5 days a week but would look like that (or slightly worse) after a weekend.

uncle ricky 09-11-09 14:51

Wonky, I have just been to your site and I notice that the prices shown in the Latest Shop Items

have to have VAT add to them, which comes has a bit of a shocker I thought the hand guards were 69.56 but when I went to buy the 15% vat was not included in that price. :cry[1]:

I am guessing it is because you export alot of your stuff.

I hope you had a good time at the Dirtbike show

Rick
