I got some exhaust sealent that a guy in the local bike shop recomended to fit on the new link pipe so it shouldn't blow, i started it up and bloody hell it was loud, dont think i will be removing the baffelers afterall

waiting for the last clam to come from ccc b4 i take it out on the road and really push it up through the gears, will have to post some pic soon

cheers for all the help

I got my stainless ovals yesterday and am having the same problems also.
I also have the problem of the end can fouling on the indicator bracket.Im pretty sure the (middle) link pipe is too long so gonna have to grind it down approx 5mm .Is it normal for the can to be very close to the indicators/indicator bracket??And do these cans get very hot at the end of the cans outlet? if they do this could possibly melt the indicator/bracket.
One other thing that really upset me about these cans is that one of them had weld splater marks on alot of the outer side of can which im hoping will polish out.I dont understand why this wasnt cleaned and polished off,its not as if it could have gone out un-noticed as it had to be wrapped in bubble wrap so must have been seen by someone!
Are there supposed to be any jubily clips/exhaust brackets that come with the ccc order? as i didnt get any.
One other thing guys is where can i get the gasket to seal off the air in the join from the down pipes to the middle link pipe? Like the standard cans have.
Thanks in advance!

Guys look at the carbon round full length image in this thread http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=2145 and you will see what i mean about how close it is to the indicator.Keep in mind that the image is of the ROUND full length cans and not the oval so imagine how close the oval are to the indicators.Infact mine are pushing against the indicators/brackets which is just no good as im sure you will all agree.
The bike image with the twin pots on has modified the indicator bracket as he/she must have had the same problem. also same problem is on the Titanium oval full length image.

Guys I don't believe you are doing this right, the CCC are an exact measured retrofit and not only they come with all the clamps and connectors required, you don't need to chop anything, just fit them in this order:

After you remove the OEM cans you should be left with the headers that go from the engine head to the 2 ends under the sump.
  1. First fit the link pipes from the headers side, leave them loose, do not tighten them up
  2. fit the cans to the other end of the lnk pipes and again make sure these are loose and not tightened.
  3. fit the clamps around the cans and to the bike frame, you can use one or two its up to u. But remember 2 clamps are always better than one.
  4. begin tightening the can to the rear part of the link pipes making sure the cans are straight and that they don't interfere with the indicators.
  5. tighten the link pips (engine end sides) to the headers and then run a spanner on all the bolts again to ensure there is a firm grip.
Repeat the tightening process in a week's time once the joints have bedded in properly.

Do not worry about a slight gas leak from the joints this will seal up naturally by the exhaust soot carbons.

CM i have done this and tried alot of other ways, even thought maybe there is a left and right can so swapped them over and still hit the same problem of the cans interfering with the indicators.
Also didnt recieve any clamps at all apart from the exhaust can brakets and cap heads, no link pipe clamps.
Will i need any gaskets or some kind of sealent for the link pipe captM? or shall i just tighted clamp (halfords exhaust clamp) without anything sealing it?

Finally got my new cans fitted, with a little help from dad, and although they were a pain in the ass and i had to use an exhaust clamp from a cbr carbon can for now, they look and sound wicked here are a few pics

Wow your new cans look wicked!! I didn't know you could get full lenght ones with the domed ends, they sure add a very captivating look.

For the record, up until the time when CCC was owned by the previous man, not the current owner, they used to supply the following:
  • the 2 cans of course
  • 4 sets of hanging clamps the ones with the rubber rings to go around the exhausts
  • 4 sets of fixing clamps 2 per each can to go between the cans and the link pipes and to go from the link pipes to the headers.
If any of these are no longer supplied I shall ask CCC, what's the score here, not sure if they forgot to include them in your parcels (Powerfreak) or if it is something they have stopped supplying, in which case I would be very disappointed. But I'll let you all know soon as Bank Holiday is off.

Cheers, i didn't think they were gonna look like they did but im very pleased with em, also i only got 1 set of clamps that were to connect the cans to the link pipes, but exhaust clamps from halfords (42mm if anyone needs em as i got the wrong size twice) are only 99p each and worked a treat.

Cheers

Got mine from CCC about a month ago and this is what was in the boxes.
4 clamps for the cans with rubber inserts and 4 clamps for the pipes, two of them are on the bottom of the cans in the pic.
No problem with them touching the indicators.
