Received my black rack today. Very very impressed, size, shape and finish are all spot on. Many thanks Pete.
Look forward to the expansion of your range when you've got a minute. Cheers, Stoo |

SkidPlate?, err...yea just hang on a bit, it now is 100% drawn in my head i just need to get it to the next step, along with everything else :) i'm estimating late june to mid july. Is your bike blue? if so my lass got all exited cos she saw you on the spine road! |
Skunk - looking good, the US10 does fit quite well doesn't it! Just be aware the zipped pocket isn't waterproof, although the inner is 100%.
Tricky/Stoo, thanks for the feedback, i'm genuinely pleased that you guys are happy with it. To all who have contributed suggestions, ideas and tips - thanks, it's all appreciated and taken on board. keep them coming! now, back to work....<<toddles off with a tape measure>> (edit-i'm lying - tape measures are far too inaccurate) |

Hi Pete, that's great. Don't mean to be hassling you on this, but perhaps if you let us know which specific item(s) you are working on or giving the highest priority, then we can concentrate our ideas around that. As Jerry Maguire said, "Help you help us." But of course, you may want to keep them as proprietary secrets, or work better alone in the mountains hammering a product with quality such as the famed rear rack, I would totally understand. |

current priorities are simultaneously Rad Guard and Sump Guard (dont want to call it a bash plate, it'll be far more than a plate). I have others i want to do too, but cant say when as i have so many commitments at the moment it is difficult to juggle everything. I don't want to give an date for something and then turn out a poor product simply to keep to that date. I hope everyone understands this. Happytrails Pete |

Speaking of sump guard, I am sure you've read and taken into account of the weak points of the OEM/TT etc. After the dealer reinstalled a new bashplate, he explained to me that one of the design problems is the rubber that is supposed to cushion between the plate and the underside of the engine is too long. I don't know if it's true or is really the root of the problem, but hopefully it may help your design. |

The key (I beleive is to create a strong and compact bash plate (no bigger than the OE plastic/Yamaha Accessory aluminium one), then have things like a tool box and or water carriers as bolt on additions to the front face or side quarters. Not everyone wants/needs a hunking great 'overland/rally' style guard - but as long as the tool and water 'pods' are optional, I think that would make a very good system? Also, as has been mentioned before, there is concern that the original M6 front bash plate mounting bolts may not be up to the job - would people be prepared to drill out those captive nuts to replace with an M8 nut and bolt? - it would be simpler than a huge great subframe to mount the plate... alternatively, Pete may already have a bracket idea that clamps directly to the down tube and bypasses those tabs altogether? xxx |
