I'll second that request - only a matter of time before something 'dings' the rad!

Ha, went down the Hill and scored a scott oiler for 60, any savins was chucked when I 'popped in, just for a look mind' at the krieger stuff in CustomLids, walked out fifty quid lighter with a US10 pack and a posh tool roll.

The pack is about the same size as the rack and big enough for me tools, flask and trail pasties.

(this post IS useless without pics)

Just a couple of suggestions Pete:

What about a larger base for the side stand to stop it sinking on soft ground? Something along the lines of this from Touratech. I know that in theory they should be simple to make, but for those of us that failed 'O' level metalwork there could be a market.

The other suggestion, purely because I want one and think it gives the bike a nice rugged look, what about a headlight protector similar to (again) the touratech one. Not the clear one, but the mad max style mesh one. I realise this is a completely different product to the rear racks so may not be possible, but I still want one :icon_thumright:

Sumpguard with a toolbox, similar to TT but better, more storage space but more subtle and the oil drain is accessible.

May be some small storage compartments for under the instruments replacing that black plastic cover.

Larger Sidestand base, if you can do it better and cheaper than TT without affecting the kickstand switch.

and doesn't use the crappy front bashplate mounts, maybe fixes to the same mounts as the crash bars - oh and with some fibration supression (rubber?) to stop it all shaking to bits!

(Pete - if you do go down this road, watch the clearence between the foot extension and the swing arm when the stand is up !!)

Rad cover is a good idea - and relatively straight forward I imagine? (ie. a thin flat sheet, CNC'd) - I haven't found I've needed one so far, but the rally bike could probably do with one, as I really doubt I'll be up the front of the pack...

And of course we discussed some ideas for a decent bash-plate at the lakes too...

No hurry Pete, no hurry...

Tenere Rack

Hi Peatbog,

How you doin?

A friend I work with (yamtenere) told me about your Tenere Rack and said you might have one in black. They look great and I am definately interested if not black, silver would be fine.
I have also been looking at getting a skid plate/engine guard but have heard yamaha's fall to bits and Touratech's aren't much better so would be interested if you are making anything like that. If so what sort of timescale are we talking? Or can you recomend one?
Thanks for your time.
Adam
