@majland
Could you post some detailed pics of the way the LED Headlight ( http://www.ebay.de/itm/2500-3200LM-H...var&hash=item0) looks installed on the bike? I'm thinking about going the same route as you did. The china spots are already bought (exactly like yours). For the Headlights, I was thinking about http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-A...481965750.html So... - How do the cooling belts fit in the housing? -- Were you able to use the rubber housing cover as it is or did it require modifications? - Apart from the led ensemble itself (the one that actually replaces the stock bulb), are there any other relays / drivers or the likes? -- If YES, where did you place it ? |

- The rubber hosing can't hold it by itself since the lamp is a bitlonger. But i have som cable ties running behind it at holding it in place and added som insulating tape around the edges to seal it. The cable ties are around the bolts that holds the small plastic cover below the speedo. I'll post at picture of it but it does not show much. Forgot to take a picture of the bulb in place without the cover. The one i got is 22.35mm from the specs (se ebay pictures) and it looks like the one you are considering are even longer. - I just strapped the driver with cable ties to the center structure that holds the front fairing. I'll se if i can take a picture of that as well. So far i've only been riding in with temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. But i hope that the spring will sone arrive and that i can heat test it this summer... I expect that i will be an issue a hot summer day to let it sit idling for long. Unfortunately you can't turn the headlights off on the tenere, but i have a spare switch on the zen overland bracket so i'm considsering wiring it in so that i can turn the headlight off. I considered butchering the plastic cover but it is afaik not available as a spare (only with wiring 11D-H4312-00 at ~38€ online)

Thanks for the detailed info, mate.
As for the housing cover, there may actually be some less expensive alternatives (all hail China). See for instance: - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FREE-...3-66376e57b163 ...or search yourself for something like "headlight rubber cover". |

Just took a few pictures - Sorry not of the lamp coolant fins. Did not want to take of the cover since it requires a cutter and new cable ties to fix et again :-)
If you measure your headlight cover and/or find a cheap replacement, please post it. I'm so happy with the H7 led that i'm about to buy a set for our small car (smart fortwo). Our Skoda family car has xenon and the smart's light are horrible in comparison (as was the yamahas - now it is just closer to okay, but not great). We live out in the countryside where it is real dark at night ....
