Greetings from sunny(today..)Scotland

Hi,

Picked up a 2010 XT660Z Tenere on Sunday.
Loving it having switched from a Fireblade.
The bike is in superb condition and came with luggage, bark busters, pivot pegs etc.

The clutch lever has downward movement when pushed down from above it, like its sprung or something, but no upward movement.
Is this normal or is it something I'll need to look at.

Will be checking out the section on exhausts as it seems a little quiet right now (Standard 'can').

Anyway, hello and any tips on the clutch lever would be appreciated - its still perfectly rideable, but if its not right I'd rather fix it.

Cheers

Mark

a big welcome....as for downward movement in the clutch lever, it could be that its post (the bit where it fits into) is worn which is common since the clutch lever is pulled in and out thousands and thousands of times and is alloy on alloy just grinding away and creating a bigger fitment gap, especially on city use bikes due to the miriad of gear changes versus long haul bikes.. Even a new lever won't sort that amount of free-play. Only a new clutch lever post/mount....and lever. You can't even tighten the thing too much as it's designed to crimp down to a max 'tightening' without jamming the lever.

ps ...I switched from a 145 bhp FJR, possibly the fastest armchair in the world, and a Tuono and thought I'd miss the power but it's a different mindset on the Z and way more fun to ride like this rather than missing the view....although, of course, those bikes can, possibly, be ridden at slower speeds too.... ...but not off road.. It's bit like owning a 2-wheeled Landrover Defender...Enjoy..

Just come back from Loch Ness after the two hottest days of the year. Did 280 miles first day 360 second day over apple cross and cost road back part of the NC500 route what a lovely two day ride. I must admit bikes did not miss a beat. Could have done with a bit more power at end of day when just needed to get back 11 hours in the saddle was a bit harsh on the bum. But bike was very comfortable over all. If I new how to load photos I would shame really. Bikes fully serviced till next time
