Headstock bearings
Just to let any newbies no to check headstock bearings as I just doing mine and they are in a pretty poor state and mines an 11plate you have to break the bottom bearing to removed that and you will need special cup removal tool to take out bottom bearing cup as Yamaha haven't put any scores in the frame to help bang them out with a screwdriver I just wanted to check to see if they had any grease in them top one was in good order but the bottom was another story it has been a nightmare to do considering it was only a basic check as the previous owner (Chorley Yamaha) must have just rubbed some new grease in to make it look like they had looked at them so newbies check and if your thinking of getting one price this into the bike as they are notorious for being in bad shape !!!

If you can borrow a 2 legged puller and turn the arms out like this it works for removing the bottom frame cup. I agree, they should have made it easier.
