Tenere LED Spotlights advise please.
Could anyone tell me what the maximum Wattage you can use for LED spotlights? There are some mini light bars out there rated 30w (3 LEDs in it ), not sure what the drain amps are though. The only other electrical accessories I'm likely to fit is a single power socket for a Sat Nav & to occasionally charge a phone.
Cheers Ken. |

30W is just over 2A @ 14V with the engine running and about 2.5A @ 12V with the engine not running. All LED lamps have a relatively low current draw, well within the scope of the XT's charging system.
Have read of this thread for a breakdown of the charging/demand capacity of the alternator. http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=18294 The phone and sat nav will again only be an amp or two at the most when at full demand. A charger will only draw about 200-500mA if the device is fully charged.

Thanks for that mate, I've put breakdown of charging capacities in my thread subscriptions along with a few others for easy reference later. There's a bit more spare power in the system than realized. Which opens up the possibility of a sound system & sub woofer in the top box !!

Hi Desert Racer, I wonder if you could actually wire up a little digital radio.....but I guess the 'note' from the exhaust is the best soundtrack!! Steve
