Reason for having this hose plugged?

I'm currently doing some maintenance on my bike..
I found a hose from my airbox that doesn't lead anywhere.. And the hose is plugged in the end? (See attached images, for which hose)

Is it any reason why this cable is plugged? Should it be plugged?
I saw a thread where Kev explained the airbox, and it looks like it can be the water overflow drain hole.. But I'm unsure. But why should this hose be plugged in that case? To not let any dust in and only open the plug it is any water in the airbox, or what?

Maybe it is hard to see which hose it is, but I'l do a try.. Took the photos in a hurry..

(It is not where I took the photo that it is plugged, it is in the other end of the hose)
