Dna filter

Afternoon all,

I'm sure there are loads of threads about this already but i'm currently dying with a serious case of man flu so i can't be arsed looking.

This weekend i am going to install a new DNA filter in my XTZ. Looking at the stage 2 cover it looks like a normal cover with the snorkel cut off?

So can i just cut mine off?

Also do i need to do anything to the mixture etc once the new filter is in and should i expect to notice any difference?

Cheers

Mike

You could chop the snorkel off, but don't remove it completely as the DNA filter won't seal properly and will rattle about in the airbox. The DNA stage 2 top is a better solution - seals properly and has nice rounded circumference to allow clean air flow.

Ideally you will need to richen the air/fuel ratio when fitting the stage 2 kit (or removing snorkel with DNA filter). A kev mod is the cheapest and easiest way to do this. I'd fit the DNA filter and leave the snorkel in place until you can get a fuelling device installed.
