what's the diference?........l

What's the difference between the 65R 65T 65S etc on the tyre sizes?

Does it really matter what letter I'm after?

Also I'm guessing recommended tkc80 size is 130/80/17 (65R)

those are speed ratings.

R 106 mph
170 kph

S 112 mph
180 kph

T 118 mph
190 kph

As you can gather from the list above, for the XT660 it doesn't really matter as you will not be riding over 170kph anyway. I usually just go for the cheapest option in stock when I order my tyres.

... and the number refers to the load rating.

290kg. if the tenere fully fuelled is say around 200kg plus me and kit at 100kg that's 300kg. so if I wheelie I'm over doing the tyre!!!
