Head Bearing Spanner
Can anyone tell me where you can purchase the Yamaha (or pattern part) c-spanner that is used to join to a torque wrench in order to correctly set the torque for steering head bearings please.
The yamaha part number is: Yamaha P/N YU-33975 - 90890-01403 I have searched the internet but with no luck. I am keen to do this work myself but have also experience poorly adjusted head bearings before which wasn't pleasant as the front end felt dreadful under breaking. Thanks for your help.

Have been looking at this on Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-VMa...item2a1e7e63f7 but not sure if its the correct fit for the Tenere. Its from America so they may not list the Tenere given they haven't got them. Can anyone confirm please.
Thanks.

Normally when I do my head bearings, albeit on my present Gas Gas(and numerous other motos),I would tap the collar washers with a blunt bar...and loosen them off that way.
To know if they're tight enough....with the wheel off the ground tap the bars to see if they will swing nice and smoothly from opposite lock left and right...when they can do that with no play I would tighten the locking washer.... Just another suggestion.... ![]() . |

Here you go..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FZ6-FAZER-...#ht_517wt_1226 . I bought one off the guy, it's a quality piece of work, and he's a helpful fella. To be honest though, when torqued up it's not much tighter than hand tight with this socket.

Thanks again. That's just the job GULG. Yes I know it's only supposed to be 7nm but tightened to 46nm first I believe. The 46 is easier to guess than the 7nm I find. This is why I love this forum. There are so many people who know more than me. Cheers
