Oh dear...could this be the dreaded regulator????

Hi all,

Ive had my bike about 4 weeks now and so far ivehad no problems at all. It is an 08 plate registered in feb 09 so it has seen just over 3 years of road use with now around 18k miles on it.

I have put about 1500 miles on it myself in the last 4/5 weeks in all weathers.

Today on the way to work in the hammering rain, the bike stutterd and lost all power, then kicked back in again and kangerood a little, lost power surged etc.

I reved the nuts off it and it seemed to be ok. Whilst waiting at the traffic lights it burbled nicely , however on winding the accelerator around to take off it lost power then kicked up again.

Before I go fiddeling could this be the regulator dying a death or something else?

The bike has full yamaha service history and may still be in warrenty but im not too sure about that one.

Cheers All

Chris
