hi im after fitting some led spot lights to the bike .anyone now of any desent one to fit .ie which to buy pls

Ive got a pair and they are superb!
I got mine here ebay item: 140432879380 12V 24V LED Spotlight Truck Pickup Van Motorhome RV ATV When you get them use loctite on the screw bezels

I bought one of those to try it and it blew straight away ,fair play i got in touch with the guy and sent pics of ,apparently there was a batch with faulty led's so he is sending a replacement .
If i were to buy another set i would go with the vision x lights ,they do a spot and a wide version ,borrowed a set last night for a night ride offroading and they were superb ,quality is much better than the chinese ones http://www.riderz.co.uk/headlights-a...pot-light.html ![]()

I've just fitted a set of X-Vision LED's to the bike.......
Opinion, they are ok. considering the power used they are a better option than Halogen. However don't expect them to be as good, I bought mine second hand (but practically new), and I would be very dissapointed had I paid full money for them. I have the wide dispersal lights, they give a dim blue light over the same distance as the main beam. Good for seeing stuff in the pitch dark but not the same brilliance as 'normal' lamps. With one lamp it would be pretty useless. You cannot look at these lamps when they are on, they are that bright, but they just can't get that light onto the road. Maybe one wide and one 10degree lamp would be a better mix. The upside is you can easily double these up, if you use a topside bracket and hang another unit under. This would still use naff all power so might be a good technical solution, however this would be more a tad expensive than purchasing a set of Hella Micro-De (about �300) HID lamps, which are probably the best lights I've seen (the normal Fogs are great too), after all it's what TT sell but charge stupid money for the bracket. www.trailtechproducts.co.uk do a selection of HID lamps starting at around �70. I've not seen them, but I've used their dashboard stuff and it's very well made.

These Vision X solstice lights are the same that Adventure-spec market and I've already got the bracket so I will be going with theirs as soon as funds permit

Is it just me that:
a) thinks the stock lights on the Ten are actually pretty good. b) gets annoyed by tarted up BMUUs coming the other way with spots on. Still reading with interest mind, but more because I'm toying with doing the Dawn to Dusk next year, at which point getting the maximum amount of light out of the meagre charging capacity of a small 2T enduro bike will be rather useful.

Not just spots but overley bright headlights, and badly alligned lights too. It moves from "be safe be seen" to "I can't see a thing so I'll avert my eyes". Now I don't want to be riding my bike when the guy in the car coming the other way shuts his eyes, or worse decides to put his main beam on in retaliation........

Agree actually. I tend to just switch it back to dipped on corners that are tight enough for that to be an issue. Saves fumbling for the switch mid-corner if someone appears the other way too.

I think there was a topic in the Z section last year when there was a spate of reg/rect failures and people running a small Comet's worth of appliances from the Ten, and someone did a breakdown of power available.

My impression of the lights on the Ten is much the same; they are bright enough (with 55W bulbs), but the reflector design is not the best. There is a little too sharper cut off on dip and main is too much like a �pencil beam�. I�ve gone for the Vision X LEDs (spots) to fill that peripheral void on main beam, (rather than wiring up dip to stay on with main as some have done) just to keep well within the approximate 280W total capacity of the alternator. However, can�t say whether it�ll work yet though because I�m waiting on the next batch of GULGo�s lovely brackets!
