Hi,
I can't really understand your question but I have a MM 2-in-1 exhaust and it's very good. It is much lighter -- it weighs about 3kg altogether compared to 4.5kg for each original can (and I've not weighed the original header pipes but they must be another 3kg). I've travelled about 17,000 miles using it: down to Morocco and over the Atlas mountains and down to the bottom of Jordan and back and it's been fine especially noting the decreasing quality of the fuel as you head towards the equator. The only problem I've had with it is that the small heat protector plate (approximately where your leg is) fell off the other day. I mentioned it to MM but not heard back. But it has done a few miles so maybe that's fair enough. I have no idea if it gives you more power but that's not why I bought it. I wanted to avoid pipes under the sump and to make the bike lighter. Whether you want to do that for the money MM charge is another question. Cheers, Ian |

Did you have any issues with the different routing of the header pipe as someone previously mentioned that it may cause problems because of the extra heat. I didn't think it probably would as MM wouldn't make it. Also have you got a power commander or not.

Not obviously. I was looking earlier(*) and noticed that the rear brake light cable (?) runs down the frame very close to the exhaust pipe but it hasn't obviously melted. (*) My clutch cable cover did melt (stuck in a traffic jam in 37+C in Damascus) which later failed on me (on a narrow bridge in an hour long traffic jam in the middle of Prishtina) but that was because I'd rerouted the cable in front of the head stock, because I'd put in bar risers, and that was the only way to make the stock clutch cable reach. The trouble was I hadn't been careful enough to ensure the cable didn't rest on the engine. I'm going to wrap it in heat reflective tape and might do sensitive looking parts near the exhaust too, for good measure rather than because there's been any damage to date. In summary, I don't think there's a problem with heat from the 2-in-1 exhaust. Cheers, Ian |

Maybe it's my fault how i worded the question, yes i was interested how the pipe ran,I have Akra's on at the moment and don't like the underslung bit,but if you look at the website or the photos on this site the can(silencer) are all the same but on the website were it shows a photo of all the parts that are included it's a different can.

Hi,
Sorry, I've just realised what you're saying with regards to the silencer. Yes, the can in http://www.metalmule.com/images/prod...y/full/003.jpg is the one I have with the tapered rear end to the silencer -- as opposed to the mini spout being shown in the other photos. The MM cans are made by Scorpion, fwiw. Cheers, Ian |

metal mule exhaust.
Forgive my mechanical ignorance! but is it normal for there to be a slight back fire when revving the bike with a metal mule 2 into 1 exhaust fitted?

No it's actually pretty much normal. Another forum member had the Off-The-Road 2 in 1 and it used to do a lot of that.
