Indicators

have already been on and asked about this but took the seat off today and looked at the back indicator connections and put one of the new indicators on but it was flashing too fast. should i buy one of these of ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTORCYCLE-LED...item1c0f49e20b

and if so can someone show me where it can be connected on to the bike with pictures or should i go for individual resistors on each indicator????? the rear ones look easy enough to do but how do you get into the front indicators, do u have to remove the front headlight??

cheers hushy

I have a relay similar to this on my X it is located behind the right hand side cover under the seat all you do is remove the old flasher unit and replace it with your new one

hey hushy i did this the other week, i found it was a lot easier to remove the front fairing to access the connectors for the front indicators ...

You need to first undo the speedo (two small screws on either side of the bracket)

Then remove the front fairing which goes around the headlight (1 screw in the middle underneath the headlight, it's the angle adjusting screw for the healight, then 2 screws on the bottom and 2 on the top and sh'e off!) then it's simple to access the connectors, sort of above/behind the front light

if u try and do it without removing these it's a tight and frustrating process

Some feed back on how you got on with this process would have been good to us other XT users as im having a problem like this also.
ill start from the begining......

Firstly i bought some oxford BULB indicators and fitted them to the rear only, so had new on rear and standard on front .Had no problems with flash rates at all.
Then i bought another set of exactly the same indicators as the rear (BULB). Fitted them and now the flash rate is too fast.?!?!?!?
I dont understand why this is as i thought you only needed resistors/flasher relays for LED indicators.
Can anyone tell me if i do need a flasher relay or something simular to solve the over fast flash rate that is now happening?
Cheers in advance :-)

I think you find that the bulbs are 10w so if you fit anything less then it will flash faster

So what do you think the answer would be uncle? Please dont tell me other indicators, these cost me 35 per set!
And why didnt they flash faster when only the rear were fitted?
One other thing is that when i turn the hazard lights on they flash at the correct rate?!?!?!? strange if you ask me.
