Pictures from the Lakes - Friday, Off-Road
I took one or two pictures on Friday, I can pick out some of the bikes & riders, but not all. maybe you'd be so kind as to identify yourself for everyone ?? These pictures can be downloaded from : www.smokingtailpipes.com/Lakeland09 If you want a HiRes copy email me with the filename ans I'll send it off to you. ------------------------------------------------ SteveD: Followed by, Mr Keithblade and then, with,, followed by Stoicbloke and Colros and just to show trail riders don't leave a mess, after 19 bikes the lane was in a right state, as you can see...... __________________

where Kiethblade masterd the art of off road armchair travel.
with steveD showing us all how to do it,, Spitting Image wrote a song a few years back - "Ive never met a nice South African", Wel I've met a very nice one, here he is; For the entire weekend, all I saw were lines of bikes, it really was an incredible sight! Bear showing that even an X, on road rubber can still master the trails.. another R, and a Z Mr Petebog, with piglett guiding the sweeper (Jmo) and, unlike the Landie Louts - we leave it all just as we found it.... Still on the Old Coach Road (well it is 5 miles long..) descending down into the old quarry. steveD waiting his turn.... Checkamus, showing the world how it's done, doesn't the Z look right at home here ?? Bear at the bottom (it's a long shot this, so a bit out of focus), and the rear end of Chris more downhill action, and a bit more from petebog Now then, Bear said he wouldn't do this - and yet here he is, dam these bikes are good! ...... and,,,,, they're off..... this trail riding lark, it's a bit easy - don't you think? JMo taking it easy on the downhill run.. After the Old Coach Road we headed into Keswick for some juice and one or two riders didn't 'push their luck' so headed off back to the camp for bacon butties. The rest of us had another encounter in the foothills of Mt Skiddaw. After this the weather turned, the local ironmungery took on the might of steveD & Teneredoug's travelling spares & maintenance departments and chekamus's bike lost it's vaginty to a can of tyreweld.......... I'll let others tell that story.....

Pictures from the Lakes - Saturday
We started the day well (although a bit damp) we rode, and rode and got mixed up in Ambleside (I've asked the council to consider banning old people, people in stupidly small cars and tourists from the Lakes - maybe a TRO would help ??) we got rained on, up hill and down valley we rode, like the wind (or was that just Johnno after the night before?) and after a brief rest in Langdale we headed for Wrynose by way of Side Gates, and look what mothe Lakeland gave us, another water crossing... and the prize for most fashionably dressed ??? Finally, our sweeper cam through Lunchtime. and a quick visit to La'al Ratty and some lunch. The girls in the cafe had taken of the Dick Turpin hats for the day, but forgot to reduce the prices....... (moan moan moan - the plight of the northerner...) Is that Austin Vince I see ??? So, how many blokes does it take to to remove a Battery ?? These Tool Tubes are great - maybe a bit too secure though........ Onward to Wast Water,,, Did someone mention Keystone ???? ah, yes , there she is - photographing the photographer....... and to wrap the <long> day up, a couple of glasses of lemonade and a bit of scoff in the pub. Checkamus, steveD and JMo - ready for thier tents I'd say..... Midlife, Johnno and Chrisxxx. Thats all the snaps from me folks......
