what you reackon

me and the mrs are thinking of heading to the highlands soon to do a bit of touring and camping,i have a few large tents that are too big and heavy,i seen this one its easy and very quick to put up small and light,my only worry is that it is too cheap, other than that it would do my job well i think, what do you reackon,is it a play tent???

Sorry - can't help there - a friend of mine has one and she carries it attached to her rucksack. She reckons that it's worth the hassle to carry when it's so simple to pitch and pack-up.

I think the first tent is too small, as even thou most say its a 2 man tent they are lying really, and they just about fits 1 with a set of shoes in. As for the foldy out one i think these look really good but can be hard to carry as you cant fold them anymore then the big rings.

I would look at internet sites and look for a 2-3 man dome tent with a small porch area. Thats what i have for camping with, and fits me (6ft4) and fits either my dad (6ft) comfortably, or bit a squeeze with both + some luggage in between us. The porch is very handy as it can hold some gear and other stuff but be careful as when really wet and windy the water can blow into the porch and wet stuff.

Something like these, are cheap, waterproof, good space inside, warm enough, good in wind etc etc. Only down side is it only packs into a long sausage shape which reduces where you can put it, normally across the back of the bike works for me, with 2 wee fold out chairs.
