Centre stand confusion

Hello

Yesterday I bought a brand new XT660R - to be collected next Thursday. The last on in the UK? So I'm new to the group - if I've posted this in the wrong place, please tell me.
I want to fit a centre stand to the bike. I looked under it in the shop and there are two brackets about 3" apart which seem to be the stand brackets.

There are two stands on eBay, one for the XT660R/X and another for the Tenere. It looks as if they have been incorrectly listed and have the bike/stand combinations reversed. Here are links to the items...

Can anyone enlighten me? If the one listed for the Tenere is actually the one for the R/X I'm in luck because I live in Mid Wales and there's one in South Wales.

Regards

John

The listings seem correct to me. The X/R stand has much wider spaced top mounts and the stiffening bar has a large forward bend in it to clear the low pipes. Just to confirm...

The Tenere stand looks like this:

Thanks for that. When I pick the bike up on Thursday I'll photograph the brackets under the frame to show why I thought the listings were backwards.

I've seen both styles for the XTR the Tenere style one was I believe a hepko brand.

Both have their own pros and cons.

The hepko one would be great for bits like removing the swing arm etc, but the one I saw in use had clearance issues with the chain.

the second one the "H" shaped one I have a sw motech version, very pleased with it but as my bike is getting on I'm having to do more work on it and things like removing the swingarm are a nightmare with this stand as it mounts to the footpegs. clearance is a little tight with aftermarket pipes and looks like some pipes would not fit with this stand fitted. But it is strong and very stable and easy to fit.

hope this helps shed some light.
