            Cleaning the wheels

             Hello folks,
My XT660Z lives outside under an Oxford bike cover but I've noticed that the wheels are suffering a bit in the harsh winter. There appears to be some white corrosion. I'm guessing a thorough clean followed by applying some wax should do the business. Any other hints or tips ? Cheers. |

Or you could just keep riding it through muddy puddles and you never see the rust.

             Hi folks,
Thanks for the replies, including you ispwichbiker ! Used some MuckOff and cleaned both wheels, left o dry and then put on a few coats of Turtle Wax Premium Series Extra Gloss, as recommended by AutoExpress. It's quite "watery" compared to some other waxes but seemed to do the trick here for me. I must get some ACF-50 for the spokes coz they are getting a wee bit rusty. |
