It's defo a separate tool. The service manual talks about it.

It's mainly for the FI system. The ECU does some diagnosis, but you need the tool to display the info. You can then use the tool to run diags on the problem area.

Tell your stealer to RTFM - Page 7-23. It connects to the 3-pin plug under the seat.
