That's not a daft as it sounds.

I wanted a rear rack, but I also have a Yamaha topbox, so I wanted to be able to swap between the two easily and quickly. The answer (this was pre-petebogs rack) was to get a GS rack from fleabagbay (25) and make a 'frame' that fits the same mounts as the Yamaha topbox. I used a combination of Nylon block and some steel. My steel is bend down at the edges to provide extra tie downs, but you could turn it up and create a space for an electronics box. By using security bolts to mount it all would keep the lighter fingered away ??

Luck for me the Starcom1 is very small compaired (but rather expensive!) to the Autocom unit and can fit into a few places under the seat, the radio fits neatly into the handlebar bag. www.starcom1.com
