Play in the rear suspension linkage

I'm looking for feedback on others experience with play in the rear suspension linkage.

The situation is this, the bolts (part # 90109-12x00) that go through the collar (part # 90387-126y1) that holds the links on are not a great fit. It relies on sideways clamping pressure not to move but it always will.

So this means that although the needle bearings are perfect if you put a spanner on the rear axle and pull up and down you can feel a small amount of movement. If you put your finger between the linkage and the housing (part # 11D-f217A-00) you can feel this more effectively.

I estimate I have 1mm of movement.

Mr Yamaha has confirmed that they are all like this and testing this on a brand new Tenere you can feel this movement. In fact if you try this on a R6 it is reported that it is the same.

There seems no point in getting new bolts as this how they are made, it seems they are just pressed steel and not machined to be a tolerance fit in the collar.

The net effect is that the links ( part # 5JN-F217M-00) will move against the collar and eventually must wear. In my mind it’s not a huge issue so long as it does not get a lot worse and cause a rapid rate of wear.

So the question is how much worse will this get, if at all. If you get a chance can you check your rear suspension and feedback as to how much play you have.
