Maybe it's paranoia, but it's just one less thing to go wrong x

I don't like over complicated electrics (being used to my XRs that really only have a couple of wires in the whole loom!) - lets say, for example, you had a crash/drop and/or got the switch clogged up with mud - you might find you had to put the bike into neutral before it would start... admittedly not a problem you might come across in day to day riding, but might be tricky out on the trail if stuck in a precarious position?

Likewise I also disconnected (and removed) the side stand cut out switch as that is in a potentially vulnerable position and can drag through a lot of muck off road, and might start to cause problems? - for example I understand some DRZ400S owners have noticed that when you go over a big bump, the sidestand jumps on it's mount and momentarily cuts the ignition...

Again, if it ain't there, it can't break or go wrong?
