I sent a letter to Yamaha Australia to "please explain" why they would release a bike with fueling issues in the first place - lets see if and what they have to say about this subject. I also did follow the European forums (german) but they seem to be at a dead end as well as far as this subject is concerned and are currently discussing your fixes ;-).

I have been writing letters to Yamaha Australia for 4 years now, telling them what I thought about their XT's surging. I have had one on one armed combat with them, they know me well. They even bought a Kev Fuel mod to test, with no feed back from them.
There is more to the puzzle of these 07 to 09 fueling problems. I have recently found out that AIS is in the O2 Air/Fuel ratio equation. The ECU compensates it's readings when the AIS valve is open, so we will get a different A/F ration when the AIS valve is open to when it is closed, the ECU compensates it's reading when the AIS valve is told to open, this is more then likely why I have been having problems in getting the surge under raps.
We are still working on a solution.
