Personally i tried on the HJC lid and found its the same as all the other HJC range for me, which is a no go area. I find they are very hard and stiff on the inside and either my shape of head or the lid creates pressure points on my head, meaning even after 5mins in the shop with the lid on my head was starting to hurt.
Still looks like a great lid though.

I tried an F14 (I think) and was really unhappy with it, which is supposed to be a top notch lid, but it just wouldnt work for me.
I know what you mean about the stiffness of the lining, it does sort of loosen up though more that it sort of accommodates your heads shape - Or maybe my head has adapted, who knows. But from a cleanliness point of view it gives the impression of being sanitary...
